Hurricane Ophelia

As a result of the damage caused by Hurricane Ophelia, many customers may experience service outages over the next few days. Due to the extreme weather conditions, our entire vehicle fleet and field crew were grounded all day on Monday 16-Oct. However rest assured that our teams will be actively working on the ground to restore service from first light on Tuesday morning.

Please bear in mind that many of the outages are due electricity supply problems throughout the country and while we have battery backup power at most of our network sites, these are only capable of covering power outages of between 4 and 24 hours. It is clear from the ESB Networks latest update  that there are still many power outages all over the country with no definite restoration time. We will do our utmost to cover the ongoing power outages affecting our major sites using generators but there is a limit to how many we can cover and we are ultimately dependent on ESB Networks restoring a normal power supply before all service issues can be eliminated. We apologise to all our customers for any inconvenience caused and greatly appreciate your understanding as we work through this period of disruption.
