Shannon Rowing Club’s landmark building in Limerick City is now equipped with the best in high speed connectivity courtesy of Ripplecom.
The iconic Shannon Rowing Club premises on Sarsfield Bridge leads a double life. Since the building was commissioned in 1902 it has served, first and foremost, as a clubhouse for the city’s oldest rowing club.
However, an unbeatable location with expansive views of King John’s Castle and St Mary’s Cathedral, means the building has become a popular location for private events and corporate functions. Rock band, The Coronas, even choose the clubhouse as the location for a top-secret gig earlier this month.
This busy calendar means the club needed a fast and reliable internet connection and Raheen-based telecommunications firm, Ripplecom, was happy to help.
Row ‘n surf
Coming on board with a sponsored service, Ripplecom installed a high-capacity connection along with access points throughout the building. Club members and event attendees alike will now enjoy free access to high-speed internet, allowing them to get online with ease. The connection includes Ripplecom’s Orion auto-failover which means the club will have maximum uptime, no matter what is going on around them.
Supporting the local business community.
Commenting on the installation, Ripplecom Managing Director, John McDonnell, said that “Ripplecom is proud to be a part of the business community in Limerick. This is only a small application of our network capabilities, but we are delighted to help out a local institution like Shannon Rowing Club,”
