Warning: scam calls claiming to be from ISP or telecoms company

A number of our customers have recently received fraudulent calls from individuals claiming to work for Ripplecom. This is part of an ongoing scam affecting hundreds of individuals and telecoms companies. Callers may claim to be from your Internet Service Provider or ISP. Often, victims are told that their ‘internet is compromised’.

What to do:
If you receive an unsolicited call from your Internet Service Provider, do not allow that person remote access to your computer. They may be a hacker attempting to gain access to your online banking or other sensitive information.

Please note that Ripplecom will only request remote access to your computer or device when a support issue has been logged with us. If you receive a suspicious call, we suggest you hang up. Call us on 061 500250. We will be able to confirm if the call was genuine.
